Taking advantage of the looong weekend we’re having at the beginning of May (from 1st till 4th), we’d like to invite you to visit the eastern part of our country!!! Our main destination will be LUBLIN It is said, that Lublin connects the West with the East. It is one of the oldest cities in Poland. Throughout the centuries it’s been a home for people of many different nationalities and religions - Catholics, Protestants, Jews, Orthodox and Muslims. All that makes the city a colourful mixture of cultures and architectural styles. Moreover, today Lublin is an important academic center – there are 6 universities. Apart from sightseeing with a guide, we’re preparing many more attractions for you! The Old Town is worth visiting not only for its beautiful buildings and historical monuments – it’s also well known for its amazing bars, restaurants and clubs, so get ready for some pub-crawling and parties (in cooperation with local ESN sections) :) As the whole region is famous for its wild nature with beautiful forests, lakes and riverbanks, we’re also going to spend some time on outdoor activities – such as ropes course, visiting an open-air museum and a mine! You can check out our hostel http://www.centhostel.pl/ ! On the way to Lublin, we’re going to visit another town, KAZIMIERZ DOLNY. Located on the picturesque bank of the Vistula river, it is considered one of the most beautifully situated towns in the country. It is also an art center in Poland - many painters retreat to this small town to paint and sell their work. Galleries can be found in almost every street, offering for sale sculptures, stained-glass, folk art, and fine art.
